What Makes the Cut (and What Doesn’t)

We care about your skin so we only accept products that meet strict hygiene and condition standards.

  • Sealed or unopened skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrance and body care
  • Lightly used products in safe packaging (e.g. pumps, powders, sealed tubes)
  • Fragrances (at least 80% full or more)
  • Products within 18 months of purchase, with visible expiry or batch codes

Packaging Standards

- Original packaging must be intact
- Label must be legible (brand, expiry, batch code visible)
- No excessive wear, staining, or tampering

  • Open jar-based creams or balms
  • Used wand-based products (mascara, gloss, concealer, etc.)
  • Leaking, broken or unlabelled items
  • Counterfeit or unverified brands
  • Medical grade products (e.g. Tretinoin)
  • Anything past expiry or 18+ months from purchase
  • Nail polish or gel systems
  • Eyeliners, liquid eyeshadows, or brow gels
  • Supplements or any ingestibles
  • Makeup brushes, sponges, or tools
  • False lashes, lash glue, or adhesives

Shipping & Submitting

How should I pack my products?
Use the original packaging when possible. If not, pack tightly with padding to avoid leaks or breakage in transit.

Do I need to photograph my items?
Not at all. We handle product photos, listings, pricing and customer questions.

Can I send more than one stash?
Yes you can submit as often as you like. Each stash gets its own label and submission record.

Product Eligibility & Criteria

What products will be rejected?
Anything used directly on your skin with an open jar/wand, Expired, Broken, leaking, unlabelled or obviously used products, counterfeit products and brands we can’t verify.

Can I sell something that’s been opened but unused?
Yes, depending on the packaging. Pump bottles and sealed tubes are generally fine.

Is the original box required?
Not for most items. But for luxury products, it helps resale value and buyer trust.

Payouts & CTRL Credit

When do I get paid?

Payouts are sent weekly, on Mondays & Thursdays.


Instant Payout: within 2 business days of verification

After-Sale Payout: once your item sells + clears the return window

CTRL Credit: applied immediately upon product approval.

How is my payout calculated?
It’s based on condition, demand, resale price and packaging. We’ll send you the breakdown before confirming your payout.

Can I change payout type after submitting?
Not currently. Payout method is locked per submission.

What is Instant Cash?
Instant Cash means we pay you upfront, before your item sells.

It’s perfect if you want:

  • Fast money
  • Zero waiting
  • A guaranteed payout

Once you accept your offer, payment is processed within 24 hours.

Why is there a monthly cap on Instant Cash?
Instant Cash is intentionally limited each month.

Why? Because we’re paying sellers before items sell, and we want to do that sustainably and fairly for everyone.

To keep things running smoothly:

  • We release a limited number of Instant Cash slots each month
  • Once the cap is reached, Instant Cash pauses until the next month

This helps us:

  • Pay sellers quickly
  • Maintain healthy cashflow

What happens if Instant Cash is capped?
You can still sell with us using Earn More After Sale, which often results in a higher payout overall.

What is Earn More After Sale?
Earn More After Sale means you get paid after your item sells, and you receive a higher percentage of the final selling price.

It’s ideal if you’re happy to wait a bit longer in exchange for:

  • A bigger payout
  • No monthly limits
  • The same hands-off experience (we handle everything)

You’ll be paid once the item sells.

Which option should I choose?
It really comes down to what matters most to you:

  • Need money quickly? → Instant Cash
  • Want the highest possible payout? → Earn More After Sale

How long are my items listed for?
We list items for up to 90 days.

This gives your products plenty of time to be discovered, while keeping listings fresh and relevant for buyers.

Most items sell well within this window, but if something takes longer, we’ll guide you through what happens next.

What happens if my item doesn’t sell?
If an item hasn’t sold by the end of the 90-day listing period, we’ll follow the preference you selected during submission.

You can choose to:

  • Recycle or donate the item (default option)
  • Have the item returned to you (return shipping fee applies)

We’ll always let you know before anything happens.

What is CTRL Credit?
Store credit that earns you 10% more than cash which you can use to shop with us.

What Happens After You Ship

How long until you receive my items?
Usually 2–4 business days from drop-off (longer if you’re in remote areas).

What happens when you receive them?
We open your stash, inspect every product by hand, check expiry/batch codes, verify condition and record what’s accepted or rejected.

Will I be notified when items are accepted or rejected?
Yes. You’ll get a detailed email with a list of accepted items and their payout status. Rejected items come with reasons and photo evidence.

What happens after my product has been listed?
You’ll receive status notifications of your products if you opt for the higher "Earn after sale" payout or the CTRL credit options.

What happens to rejected items?
You choose:
- Donate them (default if no reply within 7 days)
- Return them (shipping fee: £2.99 per return)

Selling Timeframes & What If It Doesn’t Sell

How long are my products listed?
Accepted products are listed for up to 60 days.

What if it hasn’t sold by then?
We’ll notify you. You can choose to: Relist for another 30 days, Reduce price (we’ll suggest it), Have it returned (return fee applies) or Donate it

How long does it usually take to sell?
Most verified items sell within 14–21 days, especially if sealed, in-demand, or niche favourites.

Rejections & Returns

Why would my product be rejected?
Most common reasons are Hygiene risk (used wand, open jars), Expired or no visible date, Damaged packaging or label missing, Unrecognised brand or authenticity concerns

How will I know if something’s rejected?
You’ll receive an email and rejection report showing the item, reason and photo evidence.

What are my options for rejected items?
You can request a return for £2.99 shipping, or allow us to donate it to a vetted community cause.

Does one rejection mean I can’t sell again?
Not at all. We’ll flag the reason and help you improve for your next stash.

Everything Else

Is there a minimum I need to send?
Nope. Start with one item or twenty. We’ll process it either way.

Can I cancel a submission?
Yes, as long as we haven’t received the parcel yet. Email hello@beautyctrl.co.uk right away.

Can I track the progress of my stash?
Yes. You’ll receive updates by email. We’re also launching a Seller Dashboard for real-time status tracking.

Can I sell from outside the UK?
Currently we’re UK-only, but expansion is coming. Join the international waitlist to stay in the loop.
