We check how it was received (bought, gifted, PR). No matter the source, everything goes through full independent verification.

Before we even unbox anything, we look at how the seller got it:
Bought, gifted, PR, or just part of a “my drawer is overflowing” moment.

This helps us understand what we’re checking for without making selling complicated for anyone.

Packaging tells the truth.
We compare every item against official brand references:

  • Fonts, colours, spacing
  • Label layout
  • Logo clarity
  • Bottle/box shape
  • Seal integrity

If something doesn’t look right, it heads to our quarantine shelf for deeper inspection.

Every beauty product has a batch code.
We run it through our batch verification process to confirm:

  • Correct format
  • Real manufacturing date
  • UK/EU compliance
  • Safe shelf life

If a batch code is missing or makes zero sense?
It’s a no from us.

We scan the barcode and confirm:

  • It matches the correct product
  • It matches the correct size/variant
  • It exists in official brand data

Counterfeits often get lazy here but we don’t.

We never list anything close to expiry or compromised in any way.

We check:

  • Expiry date or PAO symbol
  • Manufacturing date vs shelf life
  • Seal integrity
  • Signs of leakage
  • Signs of tampering
  • Clean, intact packaging

If we wouldn’t use it ourselves?
It doesn’t go live.

Before approval, the product receives a final human inspection:

  • One final packaging check
  • One final safety check
  • Photos logged into our traceability system
  • Verified date assigned
  • “CTRL Verified” stamp applied

Only then does it join the Beauty CTRL shop.

Our Standards

What We Don't Accept (Ever)

  • Opened or swatched items
  • Counterfeits or "looks a bit off" products
  • Incorrect batch codes
  • Wrong or suspicious packaging
  • Close-to-expiry items
  • Damaged, dented, or leaking products
  • Items from untrustworthy sources (Temu, AliExpress, unknown sellers)

If it wouldn't meet our own standards, it won't meet yours.
